FUN! SWAG! PRIZES!

GLAM! FEST is two full days of fun events curated by Tarik Black Foundation (TBF) to kick off the summer for teen girls ages 15 and up. We will celebrate what it is to be a GIRL with activities that will elevate how to think about life choices. It starts with a field trip to a surprise movie screening. Then throughout the two days there are workshops, interactive sessions and other fun activities focusing on self-care, financial literacy, global experiences and technology.

GLAM! FEST Itinerary

DAY ONE: Friday, June 2

8:00-8:15 AM

Check-in Celebration and Fun!

KICKOFF EVENT IS A SPECIAL SCREENING OF DISNEY’S LITTLE
MERMAID MOVIE STARRING HALLE BAILEY

Attendees MUST check-in at Mt. Olive Church 538 Martin L. King. Charter bus rides
to the kickoff will start at 8:00 am and end at 8:30 am.

There will be no check-in at the movie theater. You must check-in, get your ticket
at Mt. Olive and ride the charter bus to participate in kickoff event at Powerhouse
Theater. Please do not go directly to the theater. You will not be allowed in the
screening.

At approximately 11:40 am the charter bus returns attendees to Mt. Olive Church
for the remaining GLAM! FEST activities. All other activities following the kickoff will
be at our headquarters at Mt. Olive.

NOON

Power Luncheon with Jean Jackson,
Filmmaker & HBO Production Team Assistant

Theme: Life Happens in Movies

Women are powerful on the screen and behind the camera. Jean is a perfect example. She is going to share what it is like in this Whole New World of movie making and help us start the life conversation while we enjoy a tasty lunch prepared by Meals on Demand.

Whether YouTube, Instagram, Google OR Electric Vehicles, Drones, Coding technology is driving this Whole New World and tech needs YOU. Explore tech from three dimensions – Social Media, Careers and Drone Technology with some dynamic young women in tech.

Girl + Fitness + Nutrition = Superwoman

World Class Olympian bobsled competitor, Sabel Otey will wrap up the day with an energetic session. She will take you through techniques to get and stay in shape for living your best life.

Shaylon Scott, Dallas, TX is founder of Book Mecca and a Woman with Superpowers honoree. She will give us some books to read as a side order to a tasty lunch. She says books can take your life to a whole new world.

Safe Feminine Care and Vegan Chemical Free Skin Care will be the focus for these concurrent sessions. Learn the latest in feminine hygiene presented by You First Community Foundation.

Learn how to safely care for your skin. Try vegan skin care products by GLAM sponsor True Moringa, manufactured in the Republic of Ghana in West Africa.

• COST $5 (Includes field trip to theater, lunch both days, conference materials, prizes.)
• Limited Onsite Registration 7:30 – 8:00 am for anyone who did not pre-register (We expect to reach capacity before event day. We strongly suggest registering in advance online, by phone or during one of our sign-up sessions. Contact us for sign up session information.)
